The programme also includes a gym, cardio centre, computer learning facilities, and nutritional support to ensure holistic development. Throughout the S.A.Y. Programme, Khelshala emphasizes values such as personal and community hygiene, the dignity of labour, self-reliance, honesty, and integrity.

Programs

  • Khelshala Social Service Camps

    Khelshala's Social Service Camps cater to high school students in grades 9 to 12. Participants can enhance their skills under the guidance of Satinder Bajwa, former Harvard squash coach. The programme offers a typical daily schedule with squash training and coaching, followed by social work with Khelshala kids. Accommodation is at a private farm with 24-hour supervision. Options include a one-week camp with 20 hours of social service or a two-week camp with 40 hours of social service. Costs vary and include visits to iconic Indian landmarks like the Golden Temple or the Taj Mahal.

  • Holistic Enrichment Programme

    Khelshala, since its establishment in 2009, operates as an after-school enrichment programme that has positively impacted over 150 children in Northern India. It currently serves approximately 100 children across two sites in Village Attawa, Chandigarh, and Village Majra, Punjab, with 50 attending regularly. Through its child-centred approach, Khelshala divides students into three groups: the Core Group, consisting of students excelling in academics, sports, yoga, and programme ownership; the Special Needs Group, which supports children who have graduated from school or require special assistance; and the Potential Group, for newly enrolled children observed for suitability to join the main programme, receiving academics, yoga, and squash sessions. Khelshala's holistic approach has led to noticeable improvements in children's growth, communication skills, academic performance, personal hygiene, and community engagement.

Milestones & Track Record

100 children have participated in Chandigarh Junior State Championships since 2011, and Khelshala has hosted its first ever Two Star S.R.F.I. tournament.
