Its primary office is in Daltonganj, Jharkhand. The Vision & Mission of the organisation are - Creation of adjusted and vibrant self-government society where people of all communities live with dignity in peace, and harmony. To make society free from exploitation and discrimination by empowering people belonging to the tribal communities and underprivileged section of the society, especially children, adolescents, and women, by ensuring their rights and promoting inclusive development. Cause Area
Impact
1.Coverage of education project in Latehar and Balumath blocks - 200 schools. 2. Farmers Producers Company (FPC) has impacted 44 Master trainers taking responsibility of the farmers club, FPC is now a Registered Unit getting fund support of Rs.1,05,000/- from NABARD Ranchi. 3.Livelihhods has impacted 168 households from various government schemes, 02 check dams 04 solar lifts and 04 wells have been renovated ensuring assured irrigation to 194 acres of land; 500 farmers of project area organised in 10 Farmers Club of 10 villages, 607 have adopted eco- friendly sustainable agriculture practices. 4. 30 SHGs are formed and functional with 367 total members. 5. Construction of 02 Check Dams in Ghutua and Harkha villages under natural resource management. 6.Construction of 04 Lift Irrigation facilities in Ghutua, Harkha, Sukuri and Bardhpathar villages 7.04 Well Renovation in Sukari, Bariatu Jagir, Odan and Jaram villages.
Programs

Child Protection
With the support from UNICEF, Jharkhand, the programme on Improving Child Protection Structures is being implemented in 50 villages in 8 panchayat (Nawagarh, Tarwadih, Rankikala, Namudag, Kope, Manika, Chatakpur, and Hami) of 3 blocks (Latehar, Manika, Mahuadar) of Latehar district by VEDIC Society. Beside this, district level orientation and coordination was also done at Simdega. Major objectives are-
1.To intervene in activating and strengthening structures under ICPS at village, blocks and district levels in Latehar district and at district level in Simdega district, and make them functional.
2. To sensitise and build awareness in the communities (villages) about child right and protection with focus on child labour.
3.To strengthen VCPC to track and monitor vulnerable children and ensure community (village) level linkages of identified children and families to alternative care and relevant government schemes -
Education
The initiative focuses on about more than 40,000 students enrolled in government elementary schools in two blocks of Lather district (Latehar and Balmuth), their families and communities. The total literacy rate of Balumath Block is 58.22%. The male literacy rate is 55.59% and the female literacy rate is 38.69% in Balumath Block. Initiative of the project is on- 1.Enhancing children’ s attendance and active participation in schools.
2. Ensuring active engagement of learners in learning process and bringing improvements in learning levels
3. Promoting life skills through sports, cultural and academic activities
4. bringing communities and schools closer to each other to facilitate collective initiatives for school improvement
5.Engaging parents and SMCs on attendance, learning and transition.
6.Ensuring successful transition of children from elementary to secondary.The initiative will cover 200 schools in Latehar and Balumath blocks. -
Livelihood Promotion through Sustainable Eco-friendly Agriculture
Livelihood Project coverage in 10 villages of 3 Gram Panchayatas of Latehar Block.Project Objective- to contribute actively to reduce poverty of 850 socially & economically disadvantaged & vulnerable indigenous marginal & small farmer households by improving their livelihood status covering 4500 beneficiaries. Project achievements:
-44 Master trainers trained to be responsibility of the farmers club.
-Farmers Producer Company now a Registered Unit.
-85% of groups have participated in Gram Sabha and have put forth their demand for inclusion of local priorities in Gram Sabha plan.
-168 HHs benefited from government schemes through project.
-2 check dams, 4 solar lifts and 4 wells renovated ensuring assured irrigation to 194 acres of land.
-607 farmers have adopted eco- friendly sustainable agriculture practices.
-Income of the families increased thorough various on farm livelihood interventions -
Health
Achievements made in area of Health in Latehar district include-
-20% improvement of Kitchen Garden for Project Area.
-60% IFA tablets and de-worming use of Adolescent girls.
-45% periodic anaemia screening (blood test).
-50% Sanitary Paid Use of Adolescent during Menstruation Period.
- 90 Adolescent girls Trained in ANC, PNC & Safe Delivery.
-90 Adolescent girls Trained in MHM.
-60 Mata Samiti & 60 WSHG Trained in anaemia,RTI/STI and Menstruation hygiene.
-39 Adolescent girls Trained in Reproductive & Sexual health.

Farmer Producer Organisation (FPO)

Good Governance & Peoples Participation
VEDIC Society is working in collaboration with CCF India, for the well being of vulnerable children by empowering the community to undertake and manage holistic child development programmes and by networking with other stakeholders. It strives to facilitate the development of each child in a holistic way, taking into account the different phases of development i.e. physical, cognitive, social and emotional.The organisation addresses the issues of child poverty and helps them to seek an identity in the community. It focuses on the children and youth as they deserve an environment of hope, respect and understanding. The organisation aims at strengthening the community in sector of health, nutrition, quality education, early childhood care and development, child participation and protection and creation of child friendly villages.
