Hijaldiha Vivekananda Seva Samity, an NGO founded in 1984 under the inspiration of Swami Amaeyanandaji Maharaj, is dedicated to charitable and welfare Read more activities for those in need. Registered under the Societies Act-1961, it relies on the generosity of both Indian and international donors to support its initiatives. Located in the remote village of Hijaldiha in Bankura district, West Bengal, the Samity occupies about three acres of land near a bus stop. Despite limited resources, it strives to overcome challenges through human development and social service, following the teachings of Swami Vivekananda, Sri Ramakrishna, and Sri Ma Sarada Devi. The organisation's primary objectives are to provide unselfish service to the impoverished villagers, promote the all-round development of remote villages, and serve the common masses, guided by the principles of "Service to mankind is service to God" and "Work is worship." To facilitate its diverse activities, the Seva Samity operates under an organisational structure consisting of an advisory board, a managing committee, and eleven sub-committees overseeing various departments such as education, medical treatment, and rural development. Looking ahead, the organisation plans to establish an Eye Operation Theatre for cataract operations and initiate a Gurukul-style school to impart education with a strong emphasis on moral and ethical values for the next generation.
