Its mission is to develop and provide social infrastructure for the disadvantaged, emphasising women's empowerment, elderly care, and fundamental needs such as nutrition, medical aid, and shelter. Mr. PNC Menon, Chairman Emeritus of SOBHA Limited and Founding Trustee of the Trust, is a key figure in the organisation. Committed to philanthropy, he pledged 50% of his wealth to charity and is part of the “Giving Pledge” initiative by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation and Warren Buffett. He has contributed significantly to various projects, including a pledge of INR 1000 crore for the Sabarmati Riverfront in Ahmedabad and a donation of AED 50 million to the ‘One Billion Meals Endowment’ initiative by the Mohammed Bin Rashed Al Maktoum Global Initiatives (MBRGI) foundation. Additionally, he has signed an MoU to build 300 homes for the underprivileged in Oman over the next 10 years. He is involved with the Rashid Centre for People of Determination, the Al Jalila Foundation, and Noor Dubai. Mr. Menon believes that providing necessities can help individuals regain self-respect and become productive members of society.

Education for Girls
Sri Kurumba Educational & Charitable Trust operates two key educational programmes aimed at empowering underprivileged girls in Kerala. SOBHA Academy, established in 2007, is a CBSE English medium school with over 1,200 students, admitting 90 eligible girls each year from Vadakkenchery, Kizhakkenchery, and Kannambra panchayats of Palakkad district. This initiative helps break the cycle of poverty and ignorance by providing high-quality education. SOBHA Icon offers a two-year, full-time, on-campus professional college enrolment-oriented programme in science and commerce, admitting 60 students per stream. Affiliated with the Kerala State Council for Open and Lifelong Education, it provides intensive training for 8 hours a day, 6 days a week, and 270 days a year, preparing students for higher education.

Women Empowerment
Sri Kurumba Educational & Charitable Trust runs several programmes to empower women and address their challenges.
The ‘Young Mother Rehabilitation Programme’ supports young widows and their children by providing self-contained flats, safety, and welfare at no cost. These women are employed at SOBHA Academy, where their children are also enrolled. The trust also aids in remarriage, with 7 of 18 widows remarried through its help.
The ‘Rural Women Empowerment Programme’ offers financial support to 35 widowed mothers and their 63 children, providing a living allowance, clothing, medical care, and educational expenses.
Additionally, the ‘Dowry-free Social Wedding Programme’ organises weddings without dowries for couples lacking resources, providing marriage counselling. To date, 667 weddings have been conducted, with Rs. 53 million spent by 2019. The trust also prioritises women's employment, with 75% of its workforce being female.
