The Yatheem Fund is a non-partisan group dedicated solely to supporting orphans and widows who are confined to their homes out of modesty and self-res Read morepect. Established in 1983, it is officially registered under the Foreign Contribution (Regulation) Act 1976 (FCRA). Furthermore, it is affiliated with the Kerala State Muslim Orphanage Coordination Committee (KSMOCC). Its efforts have earned recognition from the International Islamic Relief Organisation in Jeddah, which aids some of the orphans under its care. Additionally, the Asian Muslim Committee in Kuwait has generously taken on the responsibility of 190 children from the Yatheem Fund, while the International Islamic Charitable Organisation (IICO) in Kuwait supports 22 orphans under its umbrella.

Yatheem Fund has facilitated the education of 800 individuals, constructed 118 new houses, repaired 1500 homes, and facilitated the adoption of 1164 orphans.

Education
The organisation prioritizes education by offering essential support such as books, umbrellas, uniforms, and school fees. For students enrolled in the 8th standard and beyond, it extends financial assistance for tuition fees as well. The organisation’s efforts have yielded remarkable outcomes, as evidenced by the accomplishments of some of the beneficiaries. One of the boys has successfully completed an MBA and now works abroad. Additionally, a young woman has completed her LLB degree, while another has completed her MBBS. Several other children are currently pursuing various higher education paths, including undergraduate and postgraduate degrees, B-Tech engineering, B.Ed., and B.Pharm programmes, among others.

House repair
Numerous families find themselves living in dire circumstances, inhabiting houses in a state of disrepair that urgently necessitate restoration. Yatheem Fund extends assistance to address these critical repair needs. In some instances, households lack access to basic necessities like water sources, wells, or latrine facilities. For this noble cause, the organisation allocates an annual budget of approximately INR 48 Lakhs, ensuring that it can continue making a meaningful impact in improving the living conditions of these families.

House construction
Several families face challenges in arranging marriages for their daughters due to their lack of homeownership. In support of these families, Yatheem Fund has acquired a 3-acre plot of land in Calicut for the construction of houses. At the Calicut Arakkinar site (Abdu Barami Housing Colony), it has successfully built 54 houses, and an additional 41 houses have been constructed at the Odumbra site (N. Ummer Koya Housing Colony). In total, it has completed the construction of 108 houses to date, aiming to alleviate the housing-related hurdles faced by these families and contribute to brighter futures for their daughters.

Yatheem Fund allocates a significant portion of its resources to cover the medical expenses of orphaned families. It provides support for cases that necessitate ongoing treatment and surgical interventions. Additionally, it collaborates with other organizations to facilitate free medical treatment, further ensuring that orphaned families receive the care they need without financial burden.
