Harithasa Foundation primarily focuses on addressing the pressing global issue of climate change, commonly known as global warming. It strives to act as a weapon against global warming, recognizing its significance on a global scale, transcending national and regional boundaries. Harithasa is dedicated to serving not only as a tool to combat global warming but also as a force for the welfare of the most vulnerable and marginalized populations. In pursuit of its mission, Harithasa has chosen Nathavaram mandal (Vizag Dist) and parts of Kotananduru & Rowthulapudi mandals (E.G. Dist) as its operational areas. It seeks to facilitate collaboration between corporations and those in need, while also fostering partnerships with organisations at the grassroots and global levels. Harithasa aims to provide a platform where individuals with noble intentions, charitable hearts, and environmentalist ideals from diverse backgrounds can unite to protect the environment and make meaningful contributions to society.

Programs

  • Education Programmes

    Harithasa Foundation's core mission is to promote education in deprived rural communities through financial assistance. Its activities include establishing computer training centres for school children, sponsoring underprivileged students, providing non-formal education, distributing school uniforms and books, and organising recreational sessions. It supports meritorious but economically disadvantaged students, enabling them to excel academically. The organisation collaborates with educational institutions to enhance communication and essential skills in rural youth. Harithasa also works with the Department of School Education, Government of Andhra Pradesh, on programs like "BADIBATA" to enroll underprivileged children in school. Additionally, it adopts educational institutions in rural and tribal areas to develop students' personality traits and communication skills, contributing to social change and educational improvement.

  • Environment Programme

    Harithasa Foundation is dedicated to combating global warming and nurturing future conservation leaders through its initiatives. The organisation emphasizes personal responsibility for reducing carbon dioxide emissions, which contribute to global warming and ecological destruction. To address this, Harithasa undertakes various activities, including planting green belts along roadsides, riverbanks, and vacant areas. It engages in door-to-door plant distribution within its operational area, monitoring plant growth and offering household guidance. Harithasa also promotes afforestation, the conservation of natural resources, and tree planting in schools during national festivals. Additionally, it advocates for non-conventional energy sources and the installation of rainwater harvesting pits to support environmental conservation efforts.

  • Mother & Child Care Programme

    Harithasa Foundation places a strong emphasis on Mother & Child Care as a fundamental objective. It conducts training programmes for specific individuals and beneficiaries, focusing on behavioural and attitudinal changes alongside best practices. To achieve tangible results, the organisation engages in activities such as awareness training programmes for select groups and beneficiaries. It promotes postnatal and antenatal checkups, encourages immunization, and distributes nutritious food to economically disadvantaged individuals. Harithasa also collaborates with Government departments like ICDS and Health to ensure that the target group can access and benefit from various schemes and services.

  • Water & Sanitation Programme

    Upon adopting a village, Harithasa Foundation initiates health-related programmes to improve the well-being of the community. Its current efforts encompass six key health initiatives, including primary healthcare, family planning, school healthcare, and the promotion of sanitation and hygiene practices to discourage open defecation. Additionally, the organisation actively encourages the construction and utilization of individual sanitary latrines, contributing to better water and sanitation conditions within the community.

  • Art & Culture Programme

    Harithasa Foundation actively engages in promoting art and culture, aiming to preserve and nurture the cultural heritage of the community. In collaboration with Government organisations and other groups, it is committed to this intervention. It pays tribute to the dedicated personality, Sri Raja Ramdass Putrevu, who devoted his life to the development of dance, drama, theatre arts, and culture. Born in the rural village of Gunupudi in Visakhapatnam District, Sri Raja Ramdass's journey led him to work in various capacities, from the U.S. film industry to training renowned Indian actors. Harithasa Foundation is dedicated to bringing his name and contributions to the forefront, annually commemorating his birthday with a stage drama. Furthermore, it organises cultural programmes as part of its mission to conserve Indian arts and culture, exemplified by its block-level cultural programme supported by Nehru Yuva Kendra (NYK) in Pedagolugondapeta village of Nathavaram Mandal.
