Safa was established in June 2006 to address the unmet needs of underprivileged women in Hyderabad. Its founder, Rubina Nafees Fatima, recognized the Read moreimportance of empowering this segment of society, enabling them to realize their capabilities and value. The organisation's primary focus was on education, skill development, livelihood, and capacity building, all aimed at uplifting the marginalized communities residing in Hyderabad's neglected slums. Through collaborations with both local and international entities committed to promoting equality and justice, Safa engages in various initiatives. These efforts centre on enhancing the skills of women and young people in areas like tailoring, embroidery, cooking, beauty and wellness, General Duty Assistant Nursing, and Information Technology enabled Services. By taking this comprehensive approach, it equips individuals with the tools they need for socio-economic growth, creating pathways to improved livelihoods and heightened self-esteem.

Education Programme
Safa is actively involved in multiple educational initiatives that empower marginalized communities in Hyderabad. "Come to Read (CTR)" concentrates on providing basic education to underprivileged children through hands-on learning, aiding them in challenging subjects, and facilitating integration into mainstream classrooms. The "50 Indians" project extends full scholarships to deserving children, enabling their education in international schools, supplemented by career and behavioural guidance. "Sitarey" and "Aqriti-1 & 2" are dedicated to expanding educational horizons for girls and STEM-focused children, offering exposure, foundational concept comprehension, and vocational advice. Addressing illiteracy in marginalized urban areas, the "Community Literacy Mission (CLM)" aspires to establish complete literacy zones. Moreover, "SAFA-Hunar" equips women with Spoken English and ITES skills, simultaneously nurturing their capacity and personality development.

Capacity Building Programme
Safa drives holistic growth through Capacity Building & Financial Inclusion Projects. Initiatives like Roshni Club, Awaaz, and Yuva Josh Club empower women, youth, and children, transforming their perspectives on education, health, and societal issues. "Girls on Ground" employs football for physical and mental growth in underprivileged girls, integrating training, leadership workshops, and community events. Roshni Club cultivates analytical skills and leadership, benefiting Hyderabad areas. Yuva Josh Club enhances youth employability, while Awaaz develops children's life skills, fostering empowerment. Umang-Safa promotes financial inclusion through self-help groups and collaborates with Sahulath Microfinance Services. Partnering with Telangana's MEPMA, Safa furthers self-help groups and credit linkages for urban poverty alleviation.

Skill Development Programme
Safa drives impactful Skill Development & Livelihoods Projects, recognizing the significance for marginalized individuals. Offering training in tailoring, nursing, ITES, and more, Safa empowers beneficiaries for self-employment and job opportunities. Supported by the Mohammadi Educational Trust, the Safa Pragati Center emphasizes education and skill training. Initiatives like "STC-Darulshifa" enhance soft skills, "SAFA SMART Centre" focuses on ITES training, and "SAFA-HSBC" boosts employability. Projects such as "Mainstreaming Youth (MY) Centre," "SLDC," and "Sai Livelihood Development Center" empower through entrepreneurship and skill development. Further initiatives cater to skills, security, and entitlements. Safa’s comprehensive approach aids in document acquisition, entitlements, and post-COVID-19 recovery.

Livelihoods Programme
Safa engages in livelihood projects that empower women and offer unique products and services. The "Artizania Shop" showcases eco-friendly lifestyle products and apparel crafted by skilled Safa women, contributing to their empowerment. "Luqma Kitchen" embodies authentic Hyderabadi cuisine, providing both packed spices and cooked meals. Its new venture, "Luqma Kitchen Studio," not only offers delicious dishes but also serves as a space for women to connect and network. The kitchen's women chefs excel in preparing Hyderabad's delicacies, ensuring quality and purity. With a commitment to providing livelihoods for marginalized single women, Luqma Kitchen maintains a focus on authenticity, value, and community.
