Boheco is an agricultural enterprise which aims to use hemp to create sustainable living through the many applications of hemp: clothing, shelter, and Read more medicine. It manufactures and sells natural textiles, clothing, handlooms, and medicinal oil made of hemp. Hemp is an environment-friendly, renewable, reusable, and recyclable resource. Because of its robust yield, hemp can provide a sustainable livelihood to small and marginal farmers. Boheco assists these farmers by providing hemp seeds, offering helpful cultivation techniques, and by innovating products using hemp. Under its BOHECO Innovation Lab, it works to find innovative ways to develop, promote, and use no/low THC (Tetrahydrocannabinol), Cannabis sativa plant varieties. In such a way, Boheco aims to create a sustainable solution towards alleviating poverty among small farmers and creating a positive impact on the environment. Boheco was awarded the Second Runner-Up position at the Tata Social Enterprise Challenge in 2017. It also won The Social Innovation Leadership Award, at the Social Innovation Conference Awards, on World CSR Day.
