The Impact Investors Council (IIC) is an industry body established to strengthen impact investing in India. It has more than 50 members active in impa Read morect investing, managing funds that amount to more than $1 billion, and ecosystem players. In total, IIC members have invested more than US$2.5 billion in more than 350 social enterprises. Through its annual event, it brings international impact investors to India. IIC encourages private capital to facilitate in making a strong social impact in sectors such as financial inclusion, clean energy, education, water, sanitation, and healthcare by generating social benefits and developing products, technologies, and services for the under-served. IIC provides various services to its members, helping develop a comprehensive council for impact investors in India. It works with the Indian government to offer industry advocacy and policy support in order to create a favorable environment for impact investing in India. In addition, it engages in press relations and research; it helps scale social enterprises by conducting training programs, hosting awards, developing tool-kits and frameworks, and by creating actionable knowledge; and it regulates itself by being transparent, protecting consumers, and being ethical.
