Lokmangal Sarva Seva society works towards upliftment of the society through its interventions in the areas of education, entrepreneurship, vocational Read more training, women empowerment, water management, community marriages and community services. With community marriages, through its initiative Samudayik Vivah Sohala, the organisation funds the expenses of the wedding ceremonies. Further, it encourages and supports the birth of a girl child to the couples who tie the knot under the initiative and receive a fixed deposit for Rs. 2,000 which is accumulated and handed over to the girl child when she turns 18. In the area of water management the foundation is actively involved in projects that conserve water and help in its equitable distribution to the districts in Solapur. Under its initiative Jalsandharan which is a water management and distribution project, it has constructed a 15 km long canal to service the needs of villages in north Solapur and surrounding areas. With women empowerment as an objective, the foundation has established self-help groups in rural locations. The groups conduct vocational training for beautician courses, computer courses, and small scale production of items such as plastic dishes, glass products, paper plates and napkins. In the field of education, entrepreneurship and vocational training it works to ensure that children in disadvantaged circumstances receive adequate help and guidance. This includes the initiative under Avanti Shikshan Sanstha which provides for primary and secondary education as well as distribution of school uniforms and books among needy families in Solapur. It additionally conducts training in technical and non-technical fields for orphan children, provides entrepreneurial guidance, assistance and motivation to unemployed youth through the Lokmangal Training Academy. Additionally, as a part of its community service initiative, the foundation has established the Babasaheb Ambedkar, Lokmangal Jeevak Hospital, in Solapur. The hospital is equipped with modern facilities such as X-rays, angiography, sonography, diagnostic tools and provides medical services at affordable rates. Also, through its Annapurna Yojana, the foundation addresses the needs of elderly citizens who lack the means to support themselves. The programme provides free of cost, two meals a day to more than 2000 people everyday.
