North East Network (NEN) is a women’s rights organisation that connects with women irrespective of their diversity and regardless of ethnicity, sexual Read more/gender identity disability and culture and addresses critical gender issues such as violence and discrimination through dialogue and dissemination. NEN aims to create a culture of peace both inside and outside the homes through women’s active and informed involvement. It works towards strengthening women by fostering leadership and increasing women’s representation in political, public and community processes. Also it addresses discrimination and violence against women in both public and domestic spheres while ensuring safer spaces. Further, it engages women to protect the environment and biodiversity through various innovative initiatives. It works in three main areas which include Gender-based Discrimination and Violence Against Women, Governance and State Accountability and Natural Resource Management and Livelihoods. It addresses the thematic areas by conducting capacity building workshops, consultation workshops, Gramin mahila kendra, orientation and skill development workshops, gender sensitisation workshops and medical health camps.
