The NTPC Foundation prioritizes the welfare of Project Affected Persons (PAPs) during plant construction, focusing on robust rehabilitation and resettlement (R&R) and community development. Its comprehensive R&R policies set high standards in the corporate sector, minimizing displacement's impact. This involves socio-economic surveys, stakeholder consultation, and transparent R&R plan implementation. It conducts Social Impact Evaluations and continues community development under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR-CD) policy. All actions comply with Government regulations, incorporating state policies and sector-specific directives. Notably, it offers rehabilitation grants to PAPs due to limited unskilled job opportunities resulting from advanced technology in their projects.

ITI Adoption Programme
The NTPC Foundation is actively involved in the ITI Adoption Programme, which aims to revitalize Industrial Training Institutes (ITIs) in India to address the shortage of skilled manpower. They participate in a Public-Private Partnership (PPP) model, working with State and Central Governments and local industries to upgrade and manage ITIs. This process involves identifying nearby ITIs, obtaining State Government consent, forming Institute Management Committees (IMC), and signing Memoranda of Agreement (MoA). NTPC has adopted 17 ITIs and built 9 new ones, creating 1530 seats to bridge the skill gap. It also provides extensive training for instructors and improves infrastructure, libraries, and equipment in these institutes, ensuring high-quality vocational education. This initiative enhances employability and supports the demand-driven nature of vocational education in the country.
