Green-O-Tech India, a prominent service provider for waste paper recycling in India, currently serves over 500 clients with its waste-to-wealth services. Paper recycling, deemed one of the simplest processes compared to others, involves several stages. Initially, papers are collected from various sources and segregated based on quality and requirements. Subsequently, the papers are shredded into small pieces and mixed with water in a large drum-type container to form pulp. The next phase involves cleaning, where companies remove ink and other colors from the pulp, often utilizing bleaches to achieve white paper production. The refined pulp, after undergoing these procedures, is then sent for the re-production of paper.

In India, rapid industrial growth has led to the generation of billions of tons of waste wood annually, mainly from wooden pallets, crates, and boxes. Despite its abundance, a significant portion is being used as a cheaper fuel alternative to coal in various industries. However, the plywood industry, a major consumer of fresh wood, shows minimal interest in utilizing waste wood as a raw material, opting instead to continue using fresh wood for manufacturing doors, panels, and plywood. This highlights both the environmental urgency of wood recycling to combat global warming and the economic potential within India's wood-related industries.
