Prior to its formal beginning, the founding members of GSP were actively engaged with different professional groups across Odisha, united by a common goal of addressing local needs effectively. By 2005, GSP's volunteer network had expanded, encompassing various thematic areas with an emphasis on empowerment, rights-based practices, sustainable ecosystem development, biodiversity conservation, capacity building, and good governance. Both in terms of programmes and geographical reach, GSP has seen substantial growth. As of 2010, GSP's operational framework became more structured, catering to diverse client groups while forging connections at local, state, and national levels to address grassroots issues effectively. GSP envisions a self-reliant society devoid of violence, injustice, abuse, stigma, and discrimination.
