Register charities and helps to protect and encourage all to run charities effectively with transparency and accountability. Runs various projects Read morefor orphans, homeless senior citizens, education for children, healthcare and medical care for the underprivileged and disabled, women empowerment with counseling and legal advice for abused victims. Provides basic free education and healthcare to underprivileged orphans. Provides financial and technical support for house construction by self for the poor. Works in close partnership with the local community and Government to provide medical and social support to people affected by Leprosy or Tuberculosis. It claims to have served more than 3.2 crore meals during the lockdown.


Issue

Dr M Chandrasekhar International Foundation focuses on developing the potential of marginalised women and girls to drive equitable changes through programmes which deliver quality healthcare, inclusive education, gender equitable and sustainable livelihood opportunities and disaster relief and preparedness. Cross-cutting themes like building resilience, inclusive governance and gender transformative change are layered into all the programmes, across each sector.


Action

* Guiding students to conduct small research, where they explore questions from their immediate context, adopt scientific inquiry methods in devising answers and validate answers by trying them. * Bringing positive changes to public health facilities, which contributed to an increase in the attendance in outpatient departments and delivery loads in these facilities. * Empowering women’s collectives to promote a nutrifood system. * Strengthening their nutrition decisions within the household. * Developing and disseminating knowledge through wall paintings in the villages.

Impact

Dr M Chandrasekhar International Foundation has been working in India for 10 years, focusing on alleviating poverty and social exclusion.   • Orphans & Children’s Care

    We are a not-for-profit organisation that builds capacity of communities to ensure empowerment for marginalised women and girls. Our sustainable and holistic interventions in Health, Livelihood, Education and Disaster Relief & Resilience, provide innovative solutions to deep-rooted development problems.

  • Old Age Home

    Maintains 25 barrier homes for the elderly throughout Asia and supports 72 old-age homes. To improve senior development and long-term sustainability, we are combining our programs and services. We are reaching out to elderly Citizen Associations, urging elderly citizens to continue with this admirable endeavour.

    Aims to achieve the following:
    To give them appropriate part-time employment so they can make money and have fun.
    To create and manage senior citizen retirement homes, libraries, hostels, and educational facilities.
    To support social programs that serve the elderly, blind, disabled, and women as well as children.
    To give the underprivileged access to healthcare & medical facilities.
    To feed the centre's prisoners wholesome food.
    To arrange for them to go on sporadic picnics.
    To give the elderly home's occupants clothing and a place to live.

    Skills Need Scanning

    We scan local industries and find out the skills needed in each area - upgrading syllabus accordingly, and ensuring our graduates find jobs in local and regional businesses.

    Trade/Soft Skills Training & Curriculum Development

    We provide students with a mix of practical and theoretical trade skills, develop industry appropriate behaviour, along with all important soft and life skills, computer literacy, functional English – continually upgrading curriculum to meet the latest industry needs.

    On the Job Training & Workplace Experience

    We facilitate on-the-job training and workplace experience to expose students to the realities of the workplace and prepare them for employment.
