Anamaya, the Tribal Health Collaborative
India's tribal population, numbering 104 million, resides in remote rural areas with limited access to healthcare. They face socio-cultural discrimination and often rely on their own traditional practices, hindering them from seeking external medical assistance. To address these challenges, the foundation started Anamaya, the Tribal Health Collaborative.
Anamaya aims to eliminate preventable deaths among tribal communities by developing an empathetic and effective public health system. It collaborates closely with indigenous people and governments in 177 districts to ensure community voices are heard.
The Collaborative works closely with tribal healers, youth, opinion leaders, NGOs, and civil society organizations to engage the community effectively. Anamaya also facilitates networks among tribal healers to exchange information and document best practices.
Through its comprehensive approach, Anamaya seeks to bridge the healthcare gap for tribal populations, addressing their unique needs and improving their overall well-being. -
Aspirational Districts Collaborative
India's 112 Aspirational Districts are home to approximately 100 million of the country's poorest population. These districts face significant challenges in terms of water access, healthcare, and education, leading to low human development indicators.
To address these issues, Piramal Foundation and NITI Aayog established the Aspirational Districts Collaborative. The primary objective is to accelerate and support the government's efforts in improving the lives of the 100 million people residing in these districts through hyperlocal collaboration and last-mile convergence. -
Digital Bharat Collaborative
The integration of technology into government systems and processes has been a priority. However, there is still a significant gap in ensuring universal access to high-quality service delivery. To address this, a comprehensive digital transformation is required, encompassing robust systems integration and sustained collaboration.
The Digital Bharat Collaborative aims to revolutionize public service delivery by enhancing accountability, accessibility, and service quality for all. It addresses both the supply and demand sides of the equation. -

The Piramal Academy of Sewa
India's youthful population holds immense potential for driving the country's transformative journey. Empowering rural women is a key aspect that can bring about a paradigm shift towards transformative change.
The Gandhi Fellowship, an initiative by the Piramal Foundation, has been instrumental in developing nation builders and nurturing over 1,700 Fellows. The Gandhi Fellowship exposes youth to grassroots-level government functioning and community dynamics. Piramal Centre for Children with Special Needs
In India, nearly 30 million individuals live with disabilities, each requiring specialized attention to address their unique needs. Unfortunately, these individuals, especially children, often face invisibility and exclusion from mainstream society due to structural disparities and a lack of adequate care and support.
To address this issue, the Piramal Centre for Children with Special Needs is being established as a top-tier facility. The center aims to empower children with disabilities to become self-sufficient and productive members of society. It will provide an inclusive environment with a world-class curriculum and pedagogy, focusing on social, emotional, and ethical competencies, as well as experiential learning. This comprehensive approach will equip children with disabilities to navigate life situations independently and create more opportunities for their future.
