Programs

  • Prangan Programme

Prangan, a community development project, is making strides in the village of Champawat, Uttarakhand. In 2021, the organization initiated its activities in rural Champawat, establishing a Community Learning Centre and maintaining ongoing efforts within local Government schools. The project has fostered positive connections with the community, garnering acknowledgement from local education authorities, school principals, and teachers.

  • Ranga Shalaa Programme

Rang Shaalaa, an arts-based training initiative, is actively implementing its Fellowship programme with a strategic approach to unravel layers of understanding related to gender, sexuality, identity, and their associated politics. This annual endeavour involves selecting six young community leaders aged 21 years and above from the Champawat district. These individuals undergo a month-long training in arts-based pedagogy, equipping them to create a comprehensive Gender and Social and Emotional Learning (SEL) module. Following their training, these leaders engage with students in Government schools through applied theatre methods, facilitating meaningful conversations around these crucial topics.

  • A Dialogue With Your Core Programme

Engaging with Your Essence, an applied arts initiative is dedicated to addressing the stress and mental well-being of adults amidst the pandemic. Through an innovative four-day workshop named 'A Dialogue with Your Core,' participants are guided to explore their struggles and areas of stagnation using theatre and expressive arts techniques. This method enables a deeper examination of these challenges, fostering a space where diverse perspectives converge to offer a broader understanding of the issues at hand. Art, in this context, serves as a conduit for holistic exploration and collaborative reflection.

  • Forum Development Project

Under the Forum Development Project's applied arts initiative, an exploration of conventional perceptions of 'women's safety' is underway through Forum Theatre. This technique, derived from the Theatre of the Oppressed (TO), presents unresolved issues to the audience. The term 'spect-actors' encapsulates the audience's role as authentic stakeholders in these unresolved problems. Following the performance, the audience transforms into 'spect-actors' and actively participates in devising and enacting potential solutions, fostering a dynamic platform for reimagining interventions tailored to the digital realm.
