Involve is an organization that strives to reimagine education through enabling increased participation of children in the decisions around learning. Read moreThrough this it seeks to unlock the agency of children to enable them to lead thriving lives of their choice. Involve was founded by IIT Madras Graduates, Divanshu & Samyak, who left their placements to build their dream. Today we are a stellar team of >65 members from diverse backgrounds (TFI, Gandhi Fellowship, APU) and skills, supported by experienced advisors, to provide choice, ownership and skills to our students. Today Involves work reaches half-a-million children across 6 states both directly and through partnerships with governments and organizations. We currently have direct programs in Karnataka (Bengaluru, Chikballapur, Koppal), Uttar Pradesh (Sambhal, Varanasi), Bihar (Bhagalpur, Banka) and programs with our partners in Punjab, Madhya Pradesh and Chhattisgarh. Through our programs like peer learning, entrepreneurial thinking, inquiry based learning for STEM, we have seen improvements in student learning outcomes of foundational literacy and numeracy, in attitudes towards learning among students (eg. how curious students are in their science classrooms) and in student skills like confidence, communication, ownership and problem solving. We’ve also seen students transform and emerge as leaders within their classrooms, schools and communities. Through our work with teachers and educational leadership within the government we’ve seen changes in their attitudes to inclusion of students in decision making and seen them become more comfortable giving more agency to students in classrooms to create and design their own learning experiences. For this work, we are backed by some prominent institutions like Wells Fargo, TFIx, The Agency Fund, to name a few. Programs

  • Maargadarshi

Maargadarshi stands as the flagship initiative, functioning as a dedicated hub for ideation and innovation. This dynamic centre is committed to intensive exploration, boundary-pushing efforts, and the acquisition of valuable insights. The primary focus revolves around the exploration of programmes and interventions designed to foster student agency within classrooms and schools. Emphasis is placed on comprehending emerging trends, identifying challenges, and devising innovative solutions that empower students to actively shape their educational journeys. A collaboration involves approximately 30 schools in the Anekal block of Bengaluru, where a diverse array of student-centric programs is implemented.

  • REACH Ecosystems Programme

Within the framework of Reimagining Education for Agency in Children (REACH), an impactful programme unfolds, leveraging the collective strength for lasting transformation. Collaborating with ecosystem organisations, the initiative actively promotes the integration of student agency principles within their learning environments. Through strategic alliances with grassroots entities, a fabric of intimate relationships is woven, collectively nurturing student-centred pedagogies. The programme's comprehensive structure encompasses vision alignment, collaborative intervention creation, orientation, training, resource development, and meticulous implementation with ongoing monitoring. Current partners include Sanjhi Sikhiya in Punjab, Sankalp ek Prayaas in Chhattisgarh and Udhyam in Madhya Pradesh

  • REACH Government Programme

Addressing challenges on a large scale necessitates close collaboration with Governmental bodies, seeking alignment in vision and seamlessly integrating programs into existing Government systems. This collaborative effort involves partnering with district and state Governments, engaging key stakeholders such as DIET, the District Education Department, SCERT, and State Education Departments. Together, we identify problem statements, co-create solutions, and provide support during implementation. The overarching goal of these initiatives is to establish sustainable solutions with the capacity to operate effectively on a broad scale.

  • Other Programmes

Beyond Peer Teaching & Learning, initiatives are crafted to actively engage students in their learning journey. These programmes, in collaboration with partner organisations, extend their impact to communities, teachers, and various stakeholders, enriching the overall educational experience. Notably, a Hindi language programme commenced in October 2022 in six Kutirs of the Tamia block, Madhya Pradesh, focusing on addressing reading and comprehension challenges. Another initiative, "Pahal," spearheaded by Student Leaders in Tamia, promotes education awareness through campaigns and street plays. "Prayaas," launched in December 2022, involves student-driven adult literacy efforts, enhancing community inclusivity and lifelong learning.

  • Peer Teaching Programme

In the Peer Teaching initiative, senior students, designated as Student Leaders, undergo a meticulous selection process based on their competencies. Paired with 4-5 junior students, they collaboratively create joyful spaces to address foundational numeracy and literacy gaps. Through active participation, learners receive personalized support, bridging crucial gaps and enhancing their preparedness for upcoming grades. Student Leaders assume a leadership role, honing skills such as communication, problem-solving, and empathy. Reflections and leadership sessions further enrich their experience, contributing to both immediate and lasting positive changes among students.
