  • DDU-GKY: Providing technical assistance for programme management

    The Deen Dayal Upadhyaya Grameen Kalyan Yojana (DDU-GKY), a flagship program of the Ministry of Rural Development (MoRD), Government of India (GoI), was designed to target impoverished rural youth and underprivileged groups, including SC/ST women and minorities. The program's core principles included market-driven training initiatives, collaborative skill development, and job placement strategies to enhance employability. In the state of Uttarakhand, the State Project Management Unit (SPMU) within the Department of Rural Development, Government of Uttarakhand, served as the pivotal state-level entity responsible for executing the DDU-GKY.
    As the designated Technical Support Agency (TSA) for the program, our role encompassed providing comprehensive technical support to facilitate the efficient program management of skill development endeavors throughout the state.

  • SANKALP: Strengthening the implementation of skills development programme in Puducherry

    The Skills Acquisition and Knowledge Awareness for Livelihood Promotion (SANKALP) project is a dedicated effort to enhance both the quality and quantity of short-term skill training. It focuses on strengthening institutions and facilitating improved market connectivity and the inclusion of marginalized segments of society.
    In collaboration with the Puducherry Skill Development Society (PSDS), the organisation is providing technical support for this project. The role involves enhancing institutional mechanisms, expanding access to skill training opportunities for marginalized communities, developing a pool of skilled trainers and assessors, promoting coordination among all skill training initiatives, and establishing a robust monitoring and evaluation system for skill training programs, among other activities.

  • Project Management Agency (PMA): Supporting the implementation of Meghalaya Health Systems Strengthening Project (MHSSP)

    The Meghalaya Health Systems Strengthening Project (MHSSP) is dedicated to fortifying healthcare services in the state. Its primary objectives include enhancing accountability, improving the quality of care, and increasing the utilization of health services, especially within public healthcare facilities at the Primary Health Centre (PHC), Community Health Centre (CHC), and District Hospital (DH) levels.
    This project is strategically designed to elevate the overall performance and service quality of the healthcare system through targeted investments in program management, health insurance, and the delivery of high-quality services. It also focuses on fostering a culture of continuous learning and innovation, allowing for the integration of innovative services at the local level. To expedite progress in achieving these goals, the organisation is providing project management support, working in collaboration with the Department of Health and Family Welfare in Meghalaya.

  • Norway India Partnership Initiative (NIPI): Promoting health in India and addressing health concerns of national and global importance

    The Norway India Partnership Initiative (NIPI) is dedicated to providing strategic, catalytic, and innovative support to India's National Health Mission (NHM). NIPI is actively piloting scalable interventions in four high-focus states: Bihar, Odisha, Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan, and the Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir. This initiative is in alignment with the developmental objectives outlined in the National Health Policy (NHP) of 2017, as set by the Government of India. The collaboration between NIPI and India seeks to continually innovate, enhance, and expand the quality continuum of healthcare at both the community and facility levels.
    In the role of a strategic partner, the organisation offers technical support to facilitate the expansion of multiple interventions in the selected high-focus states. Additionally, it assists the state National Health Mission in establishing an "innovation hub" within the government system to drive progress in healthcare innovation.

  • Udaan: Preventing teenage pregnancy

    Udaan, a five-year project implemented in Rajasthan, aimed to combat early marriage and teenage pregnancy among girls. The project recognized the critical issue of early marriages, leading to early childbearing, school dropouts, and various adverse consequences. To address this, Udaan adopted a comprehensive, multi-sectoral approach, extending beyond sexual health, to transform adolescent programs and achieve meaningful outcomes. The project capitalized on existing government platforms and initiatives, focusing on three interrelated components.
    In the role of an implementation partner, it employed three strategic solutions. The first strategy is highlighting the advantages of increased years of schooling on decisions related to marriage and pregnancy. The second strategy aimed to make schools the safest environment for positive adolescent health programs. The third strategy focused on expanding contraceptive choices for young women, prioritizing a diversified contraceptive method mix

  • Manzil: Inspiring young girls to seek aspiring careers

    Manzil aims to provide young girls aged 14-21 years in six select districts of Rajasthan with access to quality vocational and skill education, along with economic opportunities. The project's primary goal is to empower these girls to independently make life choices, thereby preventing early marriages and delaying the age of first pregnancy. To achieve this, Manzil focuses on several key components, including identifying girls' aspirations, connecting them with relevant training opportunities, and improving the quality of skill-based training. Moreover, the project equips these girls with accurate information and supports their access to decent employment opportunities. By addressing regressive social norms within communities that hinder women's workforce participation, Manzil seeks to create an environment conducive to gender equality.

  • RajPusht: Strengthening care in the first 1,000 Days

    RajPusht, targeting five tribal districts in Rajasthan, aims to decrease the occurrence of low birth weight and wasting among children. The project pursues a transformative approach to enhance maternal and child health, emphasizing cash transfers to new mothers, enabling them to procure and consume locally available nutritious diets. RajPusht employs a comprehensive 360° social and behaviour change communication strategy to foster an environment conducive to adopting recommended pregnancy care, childcare, and nutrition practices.
    In its role as an implementation partner for RajPusht, it provides expert technical assistance and sustainable solutions to promote equitable development in developing countries.

  • Shimla Jal Prabandhan Nigam Limited (SJPNL): Providing water and sewage services in Greater Shimla area

    Amid the pandemic and ongoing economic crisis, the World Bank has shifted its funding approach to a more performance-oriented model. This led to the introduction of the Program for Results (PforR), which aims to build upon the accomplishments of Phase 1 reforms initiated under DPL 1. The program's core objective is to assist the Government of Himachal Pradesh in enhancing the operational and financial performance of Shimla Jal Prabandhan Nigam Limited (SJPNL) Utility while improving access to water supply and sewerage services.
    The program's primary focus will be within the Shimla Municipal Corporation (SMC) area, and its implementation will be overseen by SJPNL. A budget of USD 250 million has been allocated for the PforR Program, with USD 160 million provided by the World Bank and the remaining USD 90 million funded by the Government of Himachal Pradesh.
