Due to the large quantity of onions involved there may be cases of rotting and loss of stock in the warehouses if not monitored regularly. This was a manual, cumbersome and inefficient process until Godaam innovations introduced the smart warehouse concept. It connects to onion farmers and visits their warehouse to access its location and ventilation requirements. As a first step suggestions to improve ventilation and air flow are given. The warehouse is then distributed into individual units or partitions to enable identification and tracking followed by IOT and smart devices being installed in each partition. Even if one onion starts to rot the devices, which monitor conditions regularly, detect this and passes on the data to a central monitoring system which identifies the particular partition where it is occurring. If the rotting is quite severe it is detected by the gases emitted from the onions and in both cases, information and alerts are sent to the farmer for action. The farmer may remove the rotten onions from the particular identified partition or may decide to sell the stocks immediately to prevent further destruction of stocks. This timely alert and action reduces wastage and loss.
