Sow Good Farms is involved in creating a nature aware generation out of children. It encourages children to try growing their own food, connect with t Read morehe environment and live in harmony with nature. It ties up with schools to include caring for nature in the curriculum. A small space is allocated in the school premises where children are taught to sow and look after plants. It also has its own farms where gatherings are organised for interested parents and their children. The gatherings feature food, music and activities which encourage awareness about the environment. It allocates small pieces of land in the farm to the children who manage their “mini khets”. They are taught to sow seeds, make organic pesticides and fertilizers, till and maintain their small piece of land. At harvest time the children get to take away fruits and vegetables grown by them to their homes and cherish the feeling. Besides caring for plants the children are also taught skills like making natural soap with herbal ingredients. Through this activity the organisation strives to nurture good qualities in the children like patience, drive, resilience, co-existence, intuition, teamwork and gratitude.
