Gyanada Foundation is working to help underprivileged children have access to better educational opportunities by introducing computer programming to Read morethem to enable them to think differently and encouraging them to study further through providing scholarships. It runs an initiative called the “binary story” which aims to introduce the children to computational thinking and problem solving. The organisation selects under resourced and low income schools to upgrade their infrastructure and computer set-ups to enable children to experiment and play around with computers. It creates content to serve such children who have never come into contact with computers and has developed an assessment model which tracks the growth of each child with different activities and challenges. To further the binary story initiative, It provides fellowships to students who are pursuing graduation and are in their second year or above and IT professional who are ready to contribute their time for this cause. The fellowship is a two-year, part-time programme which exposes the candidates to real life teaching of computer programming and physical computing to the children. The fellows are encouraged to think up their own plans and ways to teach enriching their experience in the process. To encourage learning in poor girls from backward communities the organisation provides scholarships through partnering with local NGO’s and non-profit organisations. The girls are supported with financial support for paying annual fees and depending on the situation also funds uniform, admission fees and study material to study in private schools. Through seeking donations, It aims to provide quality education to poor girls and also maintains an online database of students to ensure that the donors know that their contributions are actually helping the cause of education.

Gyanada Scholars
StateThe Gyanada Foundation was established in 2013 to give low-income girls—the majority of whom were first-generation students—better access to educational opportunities. We thought we could build a platform that would guarantee the recipients have more life possibilities. Through our Gyanada Scholars Programme, we have helped over 100 girls in Kolkata, Ranchi, Mumbai, Delhi, Pune, and Kolkata get access to higher educational possibilities. Our primary initiative was founded to select and fund girls from deserving communities to give them private school scholarships.
