Gurukul Foundation, a Government-registered non-profit, focuses on uplifting marginalized communities, including primitive hill tribals, persons with Read moredisabilities, destitute women and children, and others facing various disadvantages. It operates with a commitment to education, livelihood, and the overall well-being of those in need. The organisation extends its reach to inaccessible hills and challenging terrains, where basic necessities are scarce. By working at both grassroots and policy advocacy levels, it strives to influence pro-poor Government policies. Gurukul Foundation emerged from an informal association of dedicated social activists after the devastating Odisha super-cyclone of 1999. Since its formal establishment in July 2017, it has been progressively expanding its activities in the tribal and hilly regions of Odisha Province, India. Its initiatives encompass a bottom-up, need-based approach, ensuring human dignity and fundamental rights in a sustainable manner. The organisation's core mission revolves around addressing the diverse needs of vulnerable populations, emphasizing a holistic development strategy that considers geographical challenges and the lack of basic necessities. Through its commitment to human rights and global standards, the Gurukul Foundation remains dedicated to making a positive impact on the lives of those it serves.
