Happy Feet Home Foundation(HFH) provides care and services to children and young adults living with life threatening and terminal illnesses like HIV, Read morethalassemia and cancer. Partnering with the Sion hospital HFH conducts daily activities for children with such illnesses. Some children also come to the HFH centre to receive care, happiness and psycho-social support. It conducts counselling on health issues, mental health and personal problems for the children and full secrecy is maintained between the counsellor and child. Arts therapy and dance sessions are conducted for the children regularly to prepare and strengthen them to accept life and face emotions with positivity. Interaction with pets and play sessions are also directed to provide them emotional support. Working parents can leave their children safely with HFH day care personnel so that they are taken care of well. Children are provided with healthy and a balanced diet while they are in the care of HFH. Group activities and games are regularly organised to direct the energies of children positively enhancing their social and academic skills. Outings are arranged for the terminally ill children and their caretakers to make them happy. Routine medical checkups are held for the children under Its care, medicines which are too costly are sponsored by HFH. It provides special care to children who have been declared to have less chances of survival. It supports hospital expenses, medical expenses and all required assistance to make the life of the child better. The Foundation has partnered with three different schools in Mumbai to motivate students from these schools to make time for terminally ill children and teach them different activities like playing musical instruments and basic maths. To increase confidence and strengthen emotional well-being HFH conducts sessions which are taken up by experts from various fields. These sessions vary from sex and sexuality, anger, leadership, communication, acceptance, careers, etc. they try to impress on the children that life is not lost while one is still living. It had started the HFH education programme in Its centre in March 2020 and continued it for a period of 10 months. The programme focussed on imparting training on creativity, problem solving, communication, community leadership and compassion. Special events like birthdays of the children and festivals are celebrated with enthusiasm in the HFH centre.
