In India, merely 20% of waste paper gets collected, leaving the remaining 80% to end up in landfills. For every 100 kilograms of paper used, only 20 kilograms find their way back for recycling. The process of waste collection has numerous unaddressed issues within the country. Offices and households lack effective mechanisms for collecting waste, often using newspapers for wrapping or packaging.

Municipalities demonstrate limited involvement in solid waste collection, and there's a scarcity of paper recycling firms equipped with warehouses for sorting and baling.

The organisation collaborated with small enterprises that manufacture pencils from recycled newspaper. Firstly, recycled newspapers are gathered at the source.

These newspapers are then cut to size and immersed in a special glue.

The female workers in the enterprise hand-roll the paper around graphite to create pencils. These pencils are then dried and refined, ready for children to use.

We celebrate important national and international days throughout the year by visiting different schools and engaging with children. On each occasion, we conduct short awareness programs based on the theme of the day—such as education, environment, health, kindness, or national pride. These sessions include simple activities, interactive discussions, and messages that help children understand the meaning of the day in an easy and inspiring way.
During every school visit, we also distribute free recycled-paper pencils to all students. These eco-friendly pencils support children in their studies while also teaching them the importance of recycling and caring for the environment. Through these celebrations, we aim to make learning joyful, build awareness, and create positive habits in young minds. Each event becomes a small step toward shaping thoughtful, responsible, and confident children.
    Our Aim:
To inspire young children with knowledge, values, and environmental responsibility by turning special days into meaningful learning experiences. We believe that early awareness can shape a child’s character and contribute to building a conscious, caring, and educated society.
    Our Impact:
We reach students across multiple schools through engaging awareness programs.
Children learn the real importance of national and international observance days.
Free recycled-paper pencils support education and promote sustainable habits.
Our activities encourage creativity, confidence, and social responsibility.
Each celebration helps build a long-term culture of learning, kindness, and environmental care.
Every event, message, and pencil we share contributes to the development of a brighter and more aware generation.

Impact

Why Recycled Paper Pencils Matter Across India, millions of wooden pencils are used every day. Each wooden pencil represents trees cut, carbon emitted, and forests lost. Paper waste, on the other hand, continues to pile up in landfills, adding to pollution. Our solution is simple and highly impactful: We collect waste paper → recycle it → and turn it into strong, smooth, eco-friendly pencils. This one small switch creates multiple layers of change: Environmental Benefits • Reduces deforestation • Minimizes landfill waste • Encourages circular economy practices • Lowers carbon footprint Social Benefits • Provides dignified livelihood opportunities to low-income families • Distributes free pencils to children who cannot afford them • Encourages communities to adopt sustainable habits Educational Benefits • Makes learning tools affordable • Sparks awareness about conservation and recycling • Builds a sense of responsibility among students Every recycled pencil becomes a symbol of hope, awareness, and collective responsibility.

Vision and Mission

The organization envisions a world where every child has access to quality education and aims to foster the next generation of leaders in environmental education.
