Their mission includes reducing poverty and vulnerability among urban poor households by facilitating gainful self-employment and skilled wage employment opportunities. This involves building grassroots level institutions and providing access to suitable spaces, institutional credit, social security, and skills training. Furthermore, AMERS plans to establish Skill Training Centers following SKILL INDIA/NSDC guidelines to support urban poor communities by providing a platform to market their products and services and access information and benefits. These centers will bridge the gap between urban poor communities and middle/higher-income groups by facilitating access to essential services and opportunities.
