Socio Legal Support To Survivors Of Sexual Violence
SOCIO-LEGAL SUPPORT TO WOMEN AND CHILD VICTIMS OF VIOLENCE
Support victims of domestic and sexual violence by walking the legal journey with them, and while doing so, closely monitor the system to render it more responsive to the needs of victims. The legal journey which a victim embarks upon is daunting and instead of strengthening her, the system pushes her several notches below the social ladder. There is no one within the system to allay her fears, provide emotional support and legal assistance. This prevents victims from accessing remedies to which they are entitled. Our goal is to assist victims in accessing these services for effective rehabilitation. The Rahat 5 Point Support Model offers a guide for socio-legal support, including first response, understanding their needs, explaining legal processes, identifying social support, and providing legal representation. -
