Yein Udaan is founded on the principle that every child is entitled to quality education and a sense of belonging, assets that remain with them for life. This organization is dedicated to unlocking the potential within each child, helping them to realize their dreams and lead enriched lives through our varied programs. We focus on transforming lives by offering educational opportunities to students from the underserved community of Chetpet. We advocate for sustainable improvement in living standards by ensuring that every member of the household is equally empowered.

The “Playschool” programme caters to children aged 2 to 4, nurturing and preparing 25 young minds for their educational journey. Utilizing a play-based multi-sensory approach, the organisation fosters language, numeracy, critical thinking, and motor skills development. At the “Young Learners” programme, in association with the Greater Chennai Police, the organisation supports 50 primary school children, aged 6 to 10, offering comprehensive academic guidance, extracurricular activities, sports, mental health support, and life skills. Programs like Penn Power & Tailoring unit aid in women's development by providing income for families. To benefit the wider community, Yein Udaan organises free outreach programs, including awareness campaigns and medical camps, accessible to all community members.

Programs

  • Annual Production

    District

Each year, the children have a unique chance to exhibit their talents and acquired knowledge on a grand stage through a theatrical presentation. Collaborating with seasoned artists specializing in theatre, dance, art, and music, the children invest six months to craft their annual performance. This platform not only showcases their abilities but also serves as an avenue to delve into societal issues, fostering awareness among the audience. Exploring themes like alcoholism, domestic violence, climate change, and child rights, these productions seek to engage and enlighten spectators on crucial social topics.

  • English Pesallam Vaanga

    District

Throughout the extensive grassroots work, the organisation encountered a consistent desire among people to enhance their spoken English skills. To facilitate this, the organisation collaborated with Community Radio stations, broadcasting daily spoken English tutorials. These lessons aim to furnish listeners with everyday conversations, enabling practice and proficiency within their homes or workplaces. This content is tailored to offer straightforward, commonly used, and contextually relevant dialogues, ensuring purposeful and enduring learning experiences.

  • Football & Fitness

    District

We are embarking on an ambitious journey to initiate a football program, setting our sights on the long-term vision of developing an outstanding women's football team. This initiative is part of a broader commitment to provide all students with access to extensive fitness and sports programs. Our goal is to foster a culture of physical excellence and sportsmanship, ensuring every student has the opportunity to thrive in their athletic pursuits and beyond.

  • Communication and Spoken English

    District

We offer spoken English classes for students in grades 9 through 12, alongside communication and career development programs tailored for college students across various districts of Chennai. These initiatives are designed to enhance linguistic skills and professional competencies, equipping young individuals with the tools necessary for academic and career success in a globalized world. Through these programs, we aim to bridge the gap between educational achievement and professional aspirations, fostering a generation of confident and articulate individuals ready to navigate the challenges of the future.

  • Mottamadi Santhipu
