Bookworm Trust was established in 2005 with the purpose of providing a diverse collection of children's books that are easily available to everyone. T Read morehe organisation has since expanded its goals to include empowering children to understand written words, broadening their horizons, and providing them with opportunities to think beyond their social and cultural backgrounds. Bookworm offers various programmes such as the Library in Schools (LiS) and Mobile Outreach Programme (MOP) to expose children to reading and storytelling. Furthermore, Bookworm is committed to developing resources to enhance learning and meet the needs of children, parents, and educators.

  • Libraries in Schools Programme(LiS)

    The Libraries in Schools (LiS) program currently runs across 100 schools in Goa. It promotes literacy and learning among new readers through carefully selected, age-appropriate books and storytelling.

  • Mobile Outreach Programme(MOP)

    The Traveling Library/ Mobile Outreach Program currently serves 10 community sites, which will double in 24-25. It extends library access to diverse groups of children.

  • Library & Resource Centre

    Bookworm runs five children’s libraries and activity spaces in Panjim, Saligao, Aldona, Cacra, and Chimbel which are ideal for creative and critical learning. The libraries play host to book talks, author events, and engagements with the visual arts.

  • Professional Development Programme

    Bookworm's provides professional development program for children's library professionals, teachers and educators across 21 states in India. Its flagship offering is the Library Educator's Course, certified by the Tata Institute for Social Sciences (TISS). Bookworm conducts school library audits, and a host of other online and in-person training program, which aim to strengthen library practices and learning, and grow the cadre of library educators.

  • Home Based Libraries

    The Home Based Library project reaches children who may not be able to access our library services and whose needs may be distinct. Refreshed Play Sets which include a main book, lesson plan, activities based on the main book, stationary, tactile toys, puzzles and tablet are being delivered to children who are part of the Home Based Library project in Goa
