Asude (असुदे) is a Marathi word that means “Acceptance”. Asude Foundation was born during the COVID-19 pandemic crisis in 2020 when we witnessed a Read moren unprecedented disruption in school education across India. This limited learning opportunities for children, especially the underprivileged. The challenges urged us to look for solutions to facilitate lifelong and holistic learning opportunities for children: “शाळा बंद आहेत, पण शशक्षण चालु असुदे!”; “The schools are shut, but let the learning continue (Asude!).” Geography: We are working in Aurangabad (Ch. Sambhajinagar) district, the divisional headquarters of the Marathwada division of Maharashtra. Marathwada region is one of India's most chronically drought-affected and rainfall-deficit regions.
Action
At Asude Foundation, we are on a mission to transform India's future by creating a holistic learning ecosystem that equips every young person with the essential life skills, knowledge, and values to pursue sustainable livelihoods, embrace diversity, and make a positive impact on society. Our initiatives: 1. North Star Program: Inspired by the brightest shining star and a source of constant direction, our flagship the North Star Program is designed to build life skills and provide career awareness necessary to achieve a student’s career aspirations. The program's objective is to decrease the number of dropouts among high school students and encourage them to continue their education further in order to achieve sustainable livelihoods. 2. Teacher Development Program Building capabilities of government school teachers to develop their skills as Career Counsellors and using Information & Communications Technology (ICT) for holistic education.
