Programs

  • Swachhata Kendras Programme

Establishing Swachhata Kendras serves as accessible facilities for Safai Mitras, equipped with digital technology for fair remuneration in marginalized communities. In Arunachal Pradesh's Changlang District, collaboration with local community groups led to the creation of a digitally equipped Swachhta Kendra, employing Women Self-Help Groups in waste collection. This initiative fosters a sustainable ecosystem, creating income opportunities and improving livelihoods. The utilization of digital technology empowers waste management entrepreneurs, supporting efficient waste tracking, management, and channelling. This technology-driven approach bridges the gap between recyclable demand and supply, fostering a self-sustaining recycling industry within a circular economy.

  • Unnati Setu Programme

Visualizing a future where Safai Mitras drive positive change, the emphasis is on transformation, endorsing their comprehensive development and mitigating vulnerabilities. Upholding those integral to the ecosystem's foundation, the significance lies in formalizing the informal sector for a sustainable waste ecosystem. The focus is on enhancing the working conditions of the informal sector, raising awareness about income options, and supporting Safai Mitras through accessible waste management points. Notably, an increase in their income, facilitated by immediate digital payments and sustained earnings, highlights tangible benefits achieved through accessible waste management and formalization initiatives.

  • Awareness Programmes

Promoting effective waste management involves creating awareness among various waste generators such as businesses, households, educational institutions, and corporations. It believes that learning is the initial step towards fostering sustainable behavioural changes in the masses. Its community engagement programmes, encompassing clean-up initiatives, Plogging, and beach cleaning, aim to educate and involve local communities. Additionally, corporate awareness initiatives bridge the gap between waste generators, pickers, and recyclers, ensuring efficient waste collection and channelling. Residential society and school awareness programmes focus on educating waste generators about efficient waste handling and segregation, emphasizing the benefits of responsible waste management.

  • Circular Initiatives

Facilitating a Circular Economy involves a comprehensive strategy targeting significant changes in behaviour, infrastructure, and policies. This initiative aims to tackle challenges within the waste management ecosystem through an all-encompassing approach. Addressing the surge in environmental waste necessitates efforts in awareness, collection, processing, and recycling. Utilizing on-field and digital expertise, hotspot identification for plastic litter is a key focus. Collaborating with think tanks and Government entities, the goal is to provide sectoral insights for structural changes through policy recommendations. Additionally, sectoral research aims to compile a database of Safai Mitras for efficient solutions.
