    2017

Our organisation aims to address the crucial role of parental education in fostering holistic development in children aged between 3-6 years. It recog Read morenizes the significance of early childhood education, non-violent communication, mindfulness, and self-awareness in shaping a child's cognitive, emotional, and social well-being. The program seeks to collaborate with government schools and teachers to engage parents and empower them with knowledge and skills to create nurturing and supportive home environments for the young ones. Our objectives: - To raise awareness among parents about the importance of early childhood education and its long-term impact on a child's overall development. - To educate parents on non-violent communication techniques, promoting positive parent-child relationships, and effective conflict resolution skills. - To introduce parents to mindfulness practices and self-awareness exercises that can enhance their own well-being and serve as positive role models for their children. - To encourage parents to actively participate in their child's early learning experiences and provide support for their academic and emotional growth.

Issue

The issue that Dawn Child Foundation aims to address is the critical gap in parental support and empowerment during the early childhood phase, particularly within the first 2000 days of a child's life. Research indicates that a significant portion of new parents, approximately one-third, experience caregiver burnout during this crucial period. This burnout stems from the overwhelming responsibilities of parenthood, lack of guidance, and often, inadequate skills to seek support from their immediate family or surroundings. The implications of caregiver burnout are far-reaching, as it not only affects the well-being of parents but also jeopardizes the child's development. When parents face overwhelming stress and lack the tools to cope, there is a heightened risk of the child experiencing toxic stress. This toxic stress can have long-lasting and permanent effects on the child's behavioral, emotional, and cognitive development. Moreover, it is crucial to recognize that the early years of a child's life are a period of extraordinary brain development. Approximately 90% of a child's brain is formed by the age of six, making these early years the foundation for future learning and development. The experiences and support a child receives during this time significantly shape their cognitive and emotional abilities, setting the stage for their entire life. In essence, Dawn Child Foundation seeks to bridge this critical gap by empowering parents with the knowledge, skills, and support they need to provide a nurturing and enriching environment during their child's early years. By doing so, the foundation aims to mitigate caregiver burnout, reduce the chances of toxic stress in children, and ensure that every child has the opportunity to thrive and reach their full potential during this crucial developmental phase.
