Vanavasi Kalyana

VKK identifies and nurtures traditional sports talent among tribals, conducting sports meets and training in athletics, Kabbadi, Kho Kho, Volleyball, and Archery. Vanavasi Kreeda Mahostsava is an annual event where young tribal athletes participate, and many have gone on to represent India internationally. It has sports facilities and centres across tribal areas, producing successful archers like Limba Ram and Kavita Raut. It plans to establish sports hostels and centres to support Vanavasi children in exploring their sporting abilities.

The Healthcare Programme works with the main goal of providing healthcare services to disadvantaged Tribal Communities, benefiting their livelihood and overall well-being. It has established a Primary Health Care Centre and conducts regular medical camps in surrounding villages. The organisation has also arranged for volunteer doctors and ambulance facilities to ensure emergency transit and mobile medical camps for tribal communities.

VKK empowers Vanavasi women through tailoring training centres, promoting self-reliance and economic stability. Dedicated women volunteers provide free training for 6 months to 1 year, with assistance in obtaining machines through Government schemes and donors. The women are also enabled with loans and savings schemes.

VKK offers hostel facilities for Vanavasi children, providing them with a conducive environment for education, accommodation, food, guidance, physical fitness, cultural activities, and sports, fostering their holistic growth.

It conducts Vanayatras, allowing urban residents to experience the lifestyle, customs, traditions, and livelihoods of Vanavasis. These journeys create a sense of brotherhood and unity, promoting understanding and empathy. Vanayatras include activities like tree plantation, coaching students, visiting hostels, and celebrating festivals. It has a significant impact on Vanavasi children and their parents, fostering awareness about education, health, Government schemes, and social inclusion. Additionally, Vanayatras generate social awareness among non-tribal society regarding the needs of tribal communities.

Hiraksha aims to safeguard the social security of vanavasis. VKK Karyakarthas provide support by raising awareness about their entitlements under the law, preserving their cultural heritage, and facilitating access to Government-provided facilities such as compensation for widows, the elderly, physically challenged individuals, and mentally challenged individuals. Additionally, VKK aids in constructing community halls for vanavasis to conduct rituals and engage in cultural activities.
