The organisation's activities include studying the waste problem, spreading awareness about waste reduction and recycling, recovering and reusing waste materials, and generating livelihood for the local community through waste management activities. For example, the organisation has conducted workshops on waste management for schools, businesses, and Government agencies. It has also set up waste collection and recycling centres in several villages in Ladakh. Additionally, Zero Waste Ladakh has trained local women in how to make reusable sanitary pads. The organisation has also partnered with hotels and restaurants to reduce their waste. Zero Waste Ladakh's goal is to create a waste-free Ladakh by working with individuals, organisations, and Governments to adopt the zero-waste strategy of waste management.

  • Fabric Waste Management

Zero Waste Ladakh collects tailor waste, segregates and sorts it, and creates utility products from it by engaging local self-help groups. The upcycled products are then marketed to generate income for the self-help groups.
