With a vision to bridge the educational divide and provide quality learning opportunities to all children, especially those from underserved communities, Bharat Edtech Initiative focuses on leveraging innovative edtech solutions. It works towards identifying, promoting, and scaling promising edtech solutions that cater to the diverse needs of Indian students. By partnering with various stakeholders, including edtech startups, educators, schools, and policymakers, Bharat Edtech Initiative aims to create an enabling ecosystem for the adoption and implementation of educational technology. One of the key focuses of Bharat Edtech Initiative is to ensure that the benefits of edtech reach marginalized communities and remote areas where access to quality education is limited. It works towards identifying and implementing strategies to overcome barriers such as lack of infrastructure, connectivity, and digital literacy.

By 2025, BEI aims to enable digital access and improve learning outcomes for 1 million first-generation digital learners in India through EdTech solutions.

BEI has reached 200,000 students, reduced the 3-month dropout rate from 45% to 6%, and increased weekly active users from 25% to 60% in its second year of operation.
