Conservation and Restoration of Forests
The preservation of nature and its resources results from community empowerment and education, which in turn aids in climate change adaptation and mitigation.
Prameya has launched several projects in the Himalayas and the Gangetic Delta Mangrove Belt, the two areas of India most affected by climate change. The diminishing glaciers and Sunderbans caused by the constantly rising sea level affect the Himalayas.

Community Education and Skill Development
In the forest buffer zone settlement of Tridibnagar, Jharkhali, in the Sundarbans, a model community education and skill development institution, the Prameya Pathshala, was established in 2018. Fishing, honey hunting, and crab hunting were and still are the main occupations of the residents in the area. These endeavours are all equally risky since they raise the potential for confrontation between people and animals. As a coastal area, the Sundarbans are particularly vulnerable to the negative consequences of climate change, including increasing sea levels and storms.
We think that the only path to progress is to educate and empower the indigenous community in the area, educating them about the local environment and their rights to land, water, and forests. Prameya Pathshala was born as a result. We aim to educate the future generation living in isolated communities on the outskirts of forests by giving them access to the fundamental educational resources needed for their development
