Puttenahalli Lake Trust is focused on the rehabilitation, protection and sustainable management of the Yelahanka Puttenahalli Lake in Bangalore, India Read more. The primary objective of the Puttenahalli Lake initiative is to revive and preserve the ecological balance of the lake. Through the active participation of local residents, environmental enthusiasts, and volunteers, the initiative aims to protect and enhance the biodiversity of the lake and its surrounding ecosystem. It works in partnership with the Indian Institute of Science and the Forest Department.

Lake Promotion, Development and Restoration Programme
The Trust has organised multiple campaigns like the “Save Lake, Save Birds” campaign, to raise awareness about the conservation of the lake and its 120 different bird species. It has gathered active support and participation from students and residents, through Lake-Clean up activities and Bird Watching expeditions. A UPA Lokayukta regularly surveys the lake and conducts meetings with BWSSB (Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board), LDA (Lake Development Authority), the Forest Department and representatives from the Trust. The Trust collaborates with the Forest Department and researchers from the Indian Institute of Science in its lake development projects. It has conducted educational training programmes for students, imparting environmental knowledge.
