Inspired by this format, Cafe Oikos hosts discussions in bookstores and cafes across Bangalore. It aims to bridge the gap between researchers in ecology and conservation and the general public by organising public talks, where researchers directly engage with the audience. The initiative focuses on sharing research findings, stories, and insights from the diverse field of ecology in India to raise awareness and interest in ecological, social, and conservation issues. Café Oikos welcomes questions and strives to foster dialogue and understanding between scientists and the public.

Organising Webinars
In celebration of Pride month, Café Oikos partnered with ATREE to host a webinar focused on fostering inclusive workspaces. The panel skilfully delved into the specific hurdles encountered by ecologists, conservationists, and social scientists who identify as part of the LGBTQ+ spectrum. The discussion highlighted key areas that require collective effort within the community to establish safer and more inclusive workspaces and field environments.
