Atma Nirbhar - Ek Challenge is a Guwahati based organisation working for the economic rehabilitation and empowerment of differently-abled adults. Foun Read moreded on 1st May, 1996 by Late Kaushik Das, the organisation now supports 40 beneficiaries but dreams to expand to support 100. The beneficiaries package tea, grocery and spices at a small packaging unit. Tea and spices are also retailed under the brand name "Nav Jeevan". Beneficiaries are also now making paper bags to replace plastic and retailing the same through various outlets.

To provide employment opportunity to people with disabilities at our tea and grocery packing unit , thereby giving them a chance to live life with dignity

Since its inception in 1996 when Atma Nirbhar - Ek Challenge first started its operations with just 5 beneficiaries, we have grown to benefit over 40 beneficiaries who are working at our unit. Apart from a monthly stipend and a wholesome daily meal, our beneficiaries are also enrolled under the Government's PF & ESI schemes where we are paying both the employer and employees' share of PF. This has helped us fulfil our objective whereby people hitherto considered liabilities by their families are now considering them to be assets.
