Education
In certain regions of Ladakh Union Territory, particularly during the COVID lockdowns, the absence of village communication towers resulted in closed schools and challenges for teachers to deliver quality educational materials to students.
To address this issue, an offline learning system was created. This stands out both for its technological approach and its content innovation.
The offline server, MeshNet, facilitates access to a wide range of educational resources, spanning from Khan Academy to PhET simulations. Leveraging a government-sponsored tablet initiative, it enables seamless connectivity to these resources. Additionally, the program is designed to nurture 21st Century Skills, offering valuable content through platforms like Village Daily News, Ladakhipedia, and support for Project-Based Learning (PBL) projects. -
Girls’ innovation center
The girls in remote villages, who are in dire need of skills development, often find themselves excluded from a traditional rote learning approach. Nevertheless, their enthusiasm for skill-building remains strong.
The organisation is actively backing VoTech Channels through our MeshNets and Winter Incubator Camps, with a special emphasis on the crucial Girl's Innovation Centers.
These centers are managed by the girls themselves, allowing them to learn essential business skills along with fostering teamwork and effective communication. The organisation provide them with equipment that aligns with their local resources, all while encouraging the cultivation of 21st Century skills. This includes learning computer-aided design and exploring marketing strategies for the global market. -
Healthcare
In certain Himalayan regions, attaining healthcare poses challenges. It could be due to the influence of traditional cultural stigmas deterring individuals from seeking high-quality care, or simply a deficiency in health education.
The initiatives encompass various endeavors, such as aiding families impacted by HIV/AIDS or Hepatitis B, broadening the reach of mental health services, and addressing substance misuse among youth.
