Basic Health Services (BHS) operates AMRIT Clinics, offering affordable primary healthcare in South Rajasthan. These clinics provide low-cost, quality care with skilled nurses, supported by physicians and teleconsultation. BHS's Dungarpur PHC partnership with the Rajasthan Government has improved healthcare access and childbirths. The Aspur Project strengthens the public health system through community empowerment, quality improvements, and telemedicine. BHS collaborates with private hospitals for referrals and uses technology to enhance care.
-
Rural Sensitization Programme
Basic Healthcare Services (BHS) is set to conduct a Rural Sensitization Programme From September 30 to October 2, 2023, BHS invites young medical professionals to a 3-day immersive experience in primary healthcare, offering an opportunity to connect with rural India and reflect on the co-existing yet different healthcare realities within the same country. As urban areas dominate medical facilities and education, this programme aims to bridge the gap by exposing participants to grassroots healthcare challenges. Originally initiated by Tribal Health Initiative, Sittilingi and Gudalur Adivasi Hospital, this programme has expanded to North India through collaboration with BHS in Southern Rajasthan. Medical students, postgraduates, and junior doctors engage in rural life, interact with communities, and learn from various experts during the camp, contributing to the enhancement of healthcare in the country.
-
Nutrition Programme
StateBasic Health Services (BHS) runs day-care centres called "phulwaris" that provide nourishment and cognitive development for young children in remote tribal communities, reducing malnutrition. BHS's initiatives tackle food insecurity, including backyard poultry projects and kitchen gardens, improving meat and vegetable consumption in households. Goat farming projects increase meat and milk availability while boosting family income. These efforts enhance health and well-being, complementing BHS's focus on medical care and education.
-
Migrant Healthcare Programme
Basic Health Services (BHS) collaborates with Aajeevika Bureau (AB) to address the health challenges faced by migrant workers and their families in cities like Ahmedabad. These migrants, mainly from South Rajasthan, UP, and MP, lack access to healthcare due to their hazardous jobs and poor living conditions. BHS and AB's programme offers solutions such as Day-Care Centres at construction sites, providing safety, nutrition, and education for migrant children. It also focuses on detecting and treating Tuberculosis (TB) among migrants, achieving high treatment completion rates. The initiative involves linking migrants with existing urban health services through partnerships with municipal systems, addressing the gaps highlighted by the COVID-19 pandemic.
