Issue
Manual scavengers and other urban poor families are facing many challenges today. Mainly these families are unable to educate their children. Quality education is a challenge and these unimproved government schools are in deplorable condition. There is a situation where the youth are forced to leave schools and colleges and work as child laborers and for low wages. Young people rarely get higher education. In this background, priority needs to be given to these families. It is common for children from these families to drop out of school and become child laborers. Young people leave education half way and become laborers. Girls are being subjected to child marriage so planning is being done for the holistic development of these families.
