Little India is a foundation aimed at helping people living in abject poverty, undernourished & famished, no hygiene & sanitation facilities, Read morenonexistent educational avenues, inhuman living conditions with no access to even basic healthcare. These are the kinds of places that have often moved us beyond words. The first thought that comes to our mind after witnessing all this was - how fortunate and lucky we all are that we don’t have to struggle for the basic needs of life. India we see on TV or the one we read about in newspapers & magazines is so much more different from the one that lives beyond the glare & glitz of the cities and towns. A different India, where the Children of a Lesser God survive in the hope of a new dawn which would bring some respite in their miserable lives. It is in the eyes of these people that we see a different India - a “Little India Foundation”. We have resolved to commit in whatever way we can, howsoever meagre, to make a difference in their lives. Little India Foundation is our medium to accomplish our dreams of working for the underprivileged in right earnest and full sincerity. The Foundation has undertaken a host of initiatives on its own without any support from anyone. The activities include feeding people at least once a day, providing clothes (from the used ones collected from various residential areas), carrying/transporting the needy persons free to the nearest health care centre, providing free homoeopathic medicines in Najafgarh, Delhi and providing awareness to people in rural areas about their rights, the facilities set up by the government for them and for enabling them to start earning. Taking these activities forward is a daunting task not only in terms of social support but also due to the requirement of financial support. While it is our resolve to try and do the maximum possible for the needy ones, despite our hard work and enthusiasm, the financial constraints are bound to catch up. The Little India Foundation (Regd.) is a Section-8 Not for profit organization that is giving wings to dream of a prosperous India, an effort in making our society a happy and healthier place to live in, where everyone should be able to live with the head is held high. The Foundation is working with the aim of providing dignity of life and prosperity to everyone. If one moves in the right direction with honest intentions, the doors open at the right time, people with noble intentions join and the journey becomes easier with their support. I, therefore, beckon you to join our foundation. We feel that together WE CAN and WE WILL make a difference to the lives of the underprivileged and the needy.
