Following a comprehensive community needs assessment in 2016, Kadam Learning Centre was established with a clear objective: to provide essential educational support to children aged 5-18. Our commitment encompasses a range of offerings, including remedial classes, foundational learning, and computer courses, all geared towards equipping students with vital skills for their future endeavors.

However, our dedication transcends the confines of the classroom. Recognizing that certain children often fall through the gaps, remaining unenrolled or dropping out due to various challenges, we took proactive steps. In 2023, we forged a partnership with Bucket List to launch a pioneering pilot project aimed at identifying and assisting these vulnerable children. Through meticulous mapping and collaborative efforts, we facilitated legal documentation for 136 children and successfully reintegrated 171 students into schools within Trilokpuri.

    State

In 2016, following a targeted focus group with uneducated women, primarily homemakers in Block 32, Trilokpuri, we initiated a sewing center. Our primary goal was to empower the trainer, Shahnaz, a local resident, enabling her to run the center as her own entrepreneurial venture. To bolster our efforts, the Sarojini Naidu Centre for Women’s Studies at Jamia Millia Islamia provided invaluable support, offering lectures on pertinent issues such as women’s education, feminine hygiene, and financial independence.

Additionally, Renuka Savasare, a designer from NID, conducted a comprehensive community skill assessment. Through this assessment, women with specialized embroidery skills were identified, laying the groundwork for further skill development initiatives within the community.
