It is a non-political social organization irrespective of caste, religion, colour and creed. It is registered under the Societies Act 12 of 1983 at Meghalaya on the 29thday of July 2011. Df is committed to integral and holistic development in the underserved areas reaching out to the bottom and to the downtrodden. Its registered office is located at Smit Village, East Khasi Hills District in the state of Meghalaya and its Administrative Cum Head Office is located at Loharghat, Via. Mirza in the District of Kamrup Rural, in the Assam State. Vision A society of self-reliance, sustainability and dignity. Mission . Serving the community to enhance their capacities, participation, institution-building and sustainable use of resources Objective. To impact the lives of 60,000 by 2032 through livelihood, health and education programs. To build institutions and local governance for better participatory decision-making. To bridge the gap for resource mobilization, linkages and entitlements; Diya Foundation primarily works for the enhancement of existing and creation of new rural Livelihood opportunities among the small and marginal farmers belonging to scheduled tribes, schedule caste, and tea tribes through various Agricultural activities and Horticulture plantations through organic practice, Sericulture, Livestock, Decentralised Renewable Energy and enabling them for resource identification (locally available), their sustainable management and building linkages with stakeholders and resource agencies. Diya also promotes community institutions such as women's self-help groups, Farmer's Interest Groups and Producer Groups. For long-term sustainability and scale-up, it identifies, trains and deploys community cadres and community volunteers. Diya identifies areas of strength (organization as well as community) for proper engagement with the community. Diya engages with resource agencies and government programs to reach out to the target communities, small and marginal farmers of Assam and adjoining villages of Meghalaya.
