It is guided by eminent board members and the expert team includes prominent professionals from the College of Agriculture & Life Sciences, Cornell University and Sathguru. With diverse expertise from our various technical partners CSFD aspires to advance technology, innovation and agribusiness in India. CSFD has hands-on knowledge in designing initiatives to engage youth meaningfully in agriculture and transfer knowledge to farmer communities. CSFD contributes to the fulfilment of Sustainable Development Goals – No poverty, Zero hunger, Good health and well-being, Quality Education, Gender Equality and Decent work & Economic growth.

Building Capacities of Rural Youth in Modern Agriculture and Agribusiness
StateTo leverage the potential of agriculture and its value chains for generating sustainable employment and livelihood opportunities in rural areas, CSFD has commenced entrepreneurship acceleration training programs and Agriculture and agribusiness training programs to foster rural entrepreneurship. This initiative focuses on identifying, training, and supporting rural stakeholders and young talents in their journey toward entrepreneurship through a collaborative effort involving institutions dedicated to promoting rural entrepreneurship.

Health and Nutrition
Cornell Sathguru Foundation for Development (CSFD) works with the rural communities of 10 villages in Sangareddy district and 13 villages in Mahbubnagar district Telangana with an aim to improve agriculture practices and to create sustainable livelihood opportunities. CSFD’s one such initiative, developing kitchen gardens focuses on enhancing the nutrition level of communities and providing a platform to create livelihood opportunities.
Mostly, the kitchen gardens can be established and maintained on small patch of land or backyard with a variety of assorted vegetables and fruits. These gardens provide the communities with a platform for innovations in supplemental food production as well as an opportunity to improve their livelihoods.
