CAPE Foundation was registered on the 23rd of March 2011, as a public charitable trust, and works to improve outcomes and prospects for children, anim Read moreals, plants and the environment, through workshops and projects. Some of our activities include workshops at schools and in slums, ecological awareness and practical conservation programmes in urban and suburban areas, and programmes to spread and maintain child and animal rights. CAPE also addresses a critical aspect of animal welfare and – Animal Birth Control, Trauma & Rescue, Adoption & Foster, Geriatric Care, Large Animal Rehabilitation, and shelter for small animals, collaborates with other organisations and supports existing animal hospitals and a fully-equipped Pet Care Clinic. Some of our other activities include pet cruelty inspections, advocacy for animal rights, and awareness sessions with schools, colleges and corporations. CAPE also works with elephants both captive and wild. Was part of the free animals from the Circus campaign and rehabilitated a number of animals. We have 2 existing PILs with the Calcutta High Court on captive Elephants and Horse carriages of West Bengal apart from cases on camel and elephant smuggling in the past.
