KAWIF registered itself as a Non-profit Charitable Organization under Section 8 of the Companies Act, 2013 on 13th August 2021. We, a group of youngst Read moreers consisting of 60 members and volunteers with the help of veterinary doctors are committed to improving the condition of thousands of needy animals in the state of West Bengal. We have dedicated ourselves to ensuring that future living creatures receive a habitable and sustainable life. What We Do? KAWIF, one of the leading organizations in Kolkata, actively responds to animal cruelty cases, rescues the suffering animals, and rehabilitates them, administers spot treatments on a daily basis, as well as organizes various awareness programs in collaboration with other animal welfare organizations, government officials and strengthens networks with various other stakeholders to generate a greater impact on the lives of both, humans and animals. Apart from these, KAWIF has successfully been able to build a small shelter as a stepping stone to embark on its journey of providing shelter care and treatment to suffering animals. Vision To create a compassionate and sustainable life for all living beings and to ensure that the future generations of all living creatures receive a habitable planet ‘where life is without fear’ by educating the dynamic citizenry in order to minimize the human-animal conflict and put an end to animal cruelty by strengthening the human-animal bond. Mission To educate the people about their responsibilities towards animals since they form an important part of the ecosystem, as well as the importance of human beings in the lives of animals. Our goal is to aware the masses about the necessity of the peaceful coexistence of both, human beings and animals. We tend to inspire youths like us through institutional outreach and public outreach on animal rights and provide them with animal welfare-related education, training and support as well as encourage the local communities to be animal protectors. Present Activities Our main focus is on Cruelty Response, Rescue and Rehabilitation of suffering animals, as well as administering Spot Treatment of various diseases and injuries to needy animals and providing shelter facilities according to our capacity. Our everyday work schedule includes mass feeding of animals along with organizing monthly Anti Rabies Vaccination programs to reduce the frequency of Rabies. KAWIF aims to address the aforementioned issues concerned for the benefit of not only the animals but also human life. We tend to tackle these issues by three means: Direct Action, Awareness Programs and Capacity Building.
