We hold registration under Section 12AA and 80G of the Income Tax Act.   We are also honoured to inform you that we have successfully carried out afforestation drives for the State of Haryana and the State of Himachal Pradesh, and are currently engaged with Rajasthan Forest Department for further afforestation activities in their respective regions.

Issue

Carbon Impact on India: Annual Carbon emission in India is 2022 -2023 was: Total per capita carbon emission in India is 1.9 metric tonne (for 1.4 billion population) Thus, there is a total of 2,660,000,000,000 Kg carbon emission each year in India. One tree helps remove 22 kg of carbon emission which means that the country needs 120,900,000,000 trees (120.9 billion) trees. The current tree population in India is around 35,000,000,000 trees (35 billion) Hence, we are short of 85,900,000,000 trees = 85.9 billion trees. Thus each citizen of India needs to plant at least 62 tree to off set this annual emmision and neutralise its impact on climate and our lives.

Action

We are a charitable wildlife and environment welfare organization working for the welfare of endangered species of animals and plants, both flora and fauna of Indian origin. Vanachar is established by a group of corporate individuals inspired to do something for mother nature and towards the common good of the environment. The officers in charge and directors of Vanachar are seasoned professionals with over 20 years of corporate experience and have dedicated the purpose of their life to environment rehabilitation. We are a member of International Union Of Forest Research Organizations (IUFRO). We have planted trees in Haryana, Himachal and Rajasthan and other projects are under way. We are also associated with various rejuvenation of endangered species of animals along with various zoological parks in India.Vanachar also emphasizes the value of ex-situ (“Ex situ” conservation literally means, "off-site conservation". It is the process of protecting an endangered species, variety or breed, of plant or animal outside its natural habitat) research in plant, animal and veterinary areas, behavioral studies, reproductive physiology and other fields. Vanachar Foundation has been undertaking projects in the field of environment and sustainability as one of its core themes. Vanachar has been committed to being an active participant in India’s efforts toward mitigation of climate change and sustainable pathways to development, through revitalisation of environmental activities in various spheres.

Impact

Through afforestation and tree plantation activities, we want to neutralise the corbon emmison and footprints in India and ensure a safe and happy future for the coming generations.

Programs

  • Afforestation Program

Vanachar has launched a green campaign in Himachal Pradesh, aiming for the sustainable development of the region amidst the challenges posed by landslides and floods. Their Project Protect Himachal Pradesh focuses on rehabilitating the flora and fauna of Himalayan villages by engaging communities and students in tree plantation activities. By targeting highly vulnerable degraded lands, including forestland and abandoned private lands, the project aims to restore biodiversity, enhance biomass production, and improve carbon stocks. Additionally, it addresses soil erosion, promotes environmental protection, and mitigates downstream siltation of water bodies through the planting and protection of native tree species.

  • Project Aravali

    District
    State

The Aravali Biodiversity Park (ABDP) stands as a testament to the collaborative efforts of citizens, the Municipal Corporation of Gurgaon (MCG), schools, and corporate entities, aiming to restore the native flora and fauna of the Aravalli Range. Once a depleted mining site, the land underwent extensive rehabilitation efforts led by iamgurgaon, leveraging a pioneering public-private partnership model. Reclaiming 350 acres of land owned by the MCG, the park now serves as a vibrant ecosystem, showcasing the successful restoration of habitat and biodiversity in Gurgaon's urban landscape.

  • Rajgarh Forest Division, Nahan

The entire Himalayan belt including Shivalik hills act as the lungs to the Country and attract tourist from all over. These hills helps to reduce carbon footprints and green house emission, through the forest cover and also reverses the climate change due to air and water pollution being witnessed by rapid industrialization of the country.
We conducted afforestation drive in and around Nahan Region for ban oak trees which is intended to have a drastic positive effect on the health of the people, plant and animals living in the region. In addition to aiding local flora and fauna , the plantation will positively impact the lives of local villagers and tribes, women and their domestic cattle during winter season, since these tree provide fodder for cattle throughout the year.

  • TOFIR , Forest Department Alwar - Wildlife Corridor

    District

The State of Rajasthan and the central government are promoting afforestation drive along the Aravali hills to develop wildlife corridors and to facilitate free and inhibited movement of wildlife from one reserved forest to another. This is targeted to avoid man animal conflict and to ensure that wild animals do not trespass urban areas and cause damage to life and property to human civilisation around adjoining these forests. In this case from Sariska wildlife santuary to Ranthambore wildlife santuary.

Afforestation drive in and around Aravali will have a drastic positive effect on the wellbeing of the people, plant and animals in the region.
