India is the first country in the world to Leprosy, hosting 56.3% of the total global cases (WHO, 2021) In 2021, India accounted for 28% of the global number of TB patients, with 21.4 lakh cases reported Despite the improvement in the last years, still 70% of children in Mumbai slums have no access to pre-primary education; In India, 16% of women had reported experiencing physical domestic violence, 53% psychological, and 56% reported any form of domestic violence (2021)
Action
Lok Seva Sangam runs mobile dermatological clinics, conducts surveys and awareness campaigns, establishes laboratories for bacteriological tests, and operates educational centers for children of leprosy patients in Mumbai's M and L wards.

Since inception, Lok Seva Sangam has received 1,575,000 patients in mobile clinics, identified 30,259 leprosy cases, followed 10,278 TB patients, supported 15,161 families through their Family Development Programme, and provided education to 8,059 children.

Milestones & Track Record
In 1980, LSS was running 33 skin clinics in M and L wards of Mumbai. In 1984, they founded Swarg Dwar, an ashram for leprosy patients. In 1986, they started a small school for children of leprosy patients in Bainganwadi.
